The beautiful city of Dana Point will again be hosting its 37th Annual Turkey Trot charity run over Thanksgiving weekend this year. Consistently ranked one of the top ten Turkey Trot’s in the country and one of the top 3 places to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, Dana Point sees an average of 11,000 people come out each year to run “the race before you stuff your face”. With scenic coastal views and unbeatable holiday weather, people travel from near and far to take part in this community event. All the proceeds from the races support local California charities including Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley, Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association, and Family Assistance Ministries. With year-round average temperatures in the mid-70s and beautiful beaches to run alongside, Dana Point is the place to be this November!
Participants in this family-friendly event can choose from the 5K or 10K race, with an optional age division enrollment for added recognition. There is also a kid-friendly “Gobble Wobble” 1-mile race for children ages 5-12. All participants in the 2014 Turkey Trot will be awarded a medal upon completion, regardless of age or time taken to complete. The top three men and women to complete the 10k will receive monetary prizes ranging from $250-$1000! Online registration closes Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:55 pm. Register early to guarantee your children a spot in the Gobble Wobble run as spots are limited.
